Presenting Research and Practices at International Meetings
SGReflect, an educational and consultancy services provider, was established after my retirement from more than three decades of work experiences as a school science teacher (~12 years) and as a science teacher educator/academic (~21 years).
SGReflect Tutorial and Enrichment Learning Centre supports SGReflect in the orgnising and conduct of tutorial and enrichment sessions for students, parents and teachers.
My professional work, practices and contributions at SGReflect & the Learning Centre include
(i) tutoring and guiding school students on science so that they do well in school and excel
in the examinations,
(ii) helping students pick up essential and effective 21st Century Life skills (mainly, as a
Reflective Learner and a Critical Thinker, both being my research and professional
practice areas throughout my more than three decades of work, including the couple
of years working as a quality assurance chemist and sales engineer in the chemical
and pharmaceutical industries)
(iii) conducting professional development workshops and programmes for school science
teachers on topics relating to pedagogy (mainly on Reflective Learning and Critical
Thinking) in Science Classroom Lessons and Laboratory Practicals; STEM and STEAM
Education; Collaborative Inquiry-based Learning; Differentiated Instruction and
Assessment; Formative Assessment; Pen and Paper Assessment; Science Practical
Assessment; Authentic Learning and Assessment in School Science; Affective
Learning in Science Education (Infusing Values Education, 21st Century
Competencies, into Science Lessons, Practicals and Projects).
(iv) conducting complimentary WebSharing sessions for science teachers and
educators (local and international) on topics related to science educational
pedagogy, student learning, assessment practices and any topic or issue on
science education of interest to the participating teachers.
(v) conducting complimentary WebSharing sessions for parents on topics relating to
parental support and guidance on teaching and learning of science to their school-
going children (for examples, updates on the school science curriculum, pedagogical
and assessment practices, and STEM-Learning ideas on how children's interest in
science may be piqued through authentic science learning experiences),
(vi) collaborating with local and international educational institutions and organisations
to further advance and achieve their educational objectives of their respective
educational programmes.

protocols.
- Trouble-shooting on problems and issues arising from production process in plant
and laboratory.
- Collaborative projects with local research and development institutions, and main HQ.
(V) Sales Engineer*, Pall Fluid Clarification Pte Ltd (1985)
Worked in technical sales at the Singapore representative office for Pall Corporation (US)
- Marketing and promotion of fluid purification products to factories and industries
in Singapore
- Marketing and promotion of compressed air dryers for industries requiring clean
compressed air supplies (mostly for electronic and heavy industries as well as health
care and research institutions)
